CRWD’s stock price is now negative year-to-date. I assume increased sales and marketing costs, at some point, hurt all software companies, especially if the technology being sold isn’t “sticky.” At my brief time at Oracle, I was always shocked at the high turnover in the sales teams each quarter. It wasn’t a model that seemed sustainable absent a product customers absolutely depended upon. With so many security vendors out there — both private and public — the ability to become the next Oracle or Salesforce seems limited, IMHO.
